DENSIOMETER SPHERICAL CONVEX TR-3110K
This device helps determine the amount of sunlight on a stream or lake - and thus the heat it creates - by estimating the amount of surrounding vegetation. It uses permanent points or transects to calculate the relative density of plant growth above and surrounding the sampling site.
To take readings, hold level at elbow-height at a distance of 12 to 18”. By counting the dots and multiplying as per the instructions, you obtain the percent of overhead area not covered by the canopy.
Includes: mirror with 37 grid intersections forming 24 squares. Housed in a 3 x 3 x 1” handsome walnut case with instructions attached to the lid, it includes a leveling bubble to ensure accurate readings. (The readings from the convex version represent a larger sample size.)
