They consist of a number of motor driven rollers which rotate at either a fixed or variable speed. When the samples are placed between the rollers in tubes or bottles, they are gently rolled. A rocking action is also applied whereby the rollers are raised and lowered at one end during rolling. This increases the effectiveness of the mixing.
